AKUMBA MUSIC is a Record Label and production house which constitutes a team of like-minded Artists, Musicians and Producers who collaboratively work towards the goal of blending rhythms and musical genres from Cameroon with pop, jazz and other world Music genres. Working with talented musicians who share their common goal of producing beautiful Afro-world music with a west African influence. Music from Cameroon is uniquely rhythmic, commonly in 4/4 and 6/8 time. Among these genres are: Makossa, Bikutsi, Njang, Mbaghalum, Mbaya, Nchuh, Asamba, Assiko. Akumba Music seeks to merge these styles with western music (pop, rock, jazz, country), Latin music and other World Music Genres, with the goal of creating a unique blend of Cameroonian-influenced pop, jazz and fusion, resulting to a unique blend of world music.
